Netball Court Specialists

Blog

Netball Court Specialists is a high-intensity sport that requires dynamic movement and complex skills, such as frequent changes in direction, jumping and landing with force. It can also be extremely physically demanding and wearing non-netball-specific running shoes will increase risk of injury to the knees.

The National WN programme was initiated by England Netball in 2017 and implemented in clusters across England between March 2018 and January 2020. In the early phases, WN sessions took place in village or church halls, WI buildings and small spaces (e.g., gardens). These locations often challenged participation and hosting because of a lack of netball goals, markings and adapted flooring. This could lead to a loss of confidence, reduce competence and exacerbate injury risk.

Netball Court Maintenance Tips from the Experts

We are experts in sports surfacing and have installed many high-quality outdoor netball courts over the years, for schools, colleges, local authorities, clubs and the NHS. Typical surface options include LOKFLORSA or Tar surfaces both of which offer excellent ball bounce qualities for netball and multi-sport use. However, for a more player-friendly surface we recommend the SportMaster ProCushion Premium system which is applied beneath textured netball court colour coatings to provide shock-absorbing layers that soften the playing surface and create a safer environment. This system is available in a range of coloured acrylic layers, each containing two different sizes of post-consumer recycled rubber, to provide varying levels of cushioning to match the needs of the user.
